The origins of this collection back to the sixties by private family contacts to French and Swiss collectors. Since the late seventies the collection was enlarged mainly by contact to gallery owners, private collectors and art lovers in Asia. Here we gratefully mention Dr. Robert Chien in Hong Kong as well as Aanong, Janya and Lek in Bangkok. For so many years they helped with their profound knowledge to build up and to edit this collection scientifically.

We started collecting extraordinary ivory statues and we were fascinated by the art of Burma. Some of these exhibts are shown here.

By chance we could take the opportunity to aquire a small collection of fully conserved neolithic vessels and bowls from Thailand. There are nearly no publication on Bronze Age stone ceramic. So we are pleased to present this material here.

In the course of time our interests focused on KhmerArt.  The most important sculptures of the Wintermeier Collection you will find here:

So, take a look at our collection  and enjoy.
